Joshua Zilke serves as President of Benco Construction, where he leads the company’s strategic growth and construction operations across the Southeast. With more than a decade of experience in multifamily, student housing and senior living construction, Zilke brings a strong background in operational leadership, project execution and market expansion.
Before joining Benco Construction, Zilke served as Vice President at Harkins Builders, where he led operations throughout the Carolinas and Central Virginia. During his tenure, he helped grow the region into a business generating more than $150 million in annual revenue.
A licensed professional engineer and general contractor in North and South Carolina, Zilke holds dual undergraduate degrees in Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering and Management from Virginia Tech, as well as a master’s degree in Civil Engineering as a Via Scholar. He also earned a graduate certificate in real estate development from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Throughout his career, Zilke has overseen large-scale developments including Springhouse Square, Hazel Southpark, Junction 49 and Arden at Indian Land. He has also contributed to industry research and best practices through published work in the Journal of Management in Engineering.
