Charlottesville, Va.(March 11, 2024) — Madison Capital Group and BCDC proudly announce the groundbreaking of Go Store It Self Storage Charlottesville, a state-of-the-art facility featuring 704 climate-controlled, secure self-storage units.
Charlottesville is home to the nearly 24,000-student University of Virginia. Proximity to major retail hubs, shopping centers, and residential complexes enhances the project’s accessibility and convenience. It is near the intersection of Rio Road West and Seminole Trail in high-barriers-to-entry Albemarle County.
“We are excited to partner with BCDC,” said Ryan Hanks, the CEO of Madison Capital. “We are bullish on Charlottesville. This marks our second storage project and our third overall project in the market, having previously built The Hudson with our subsidiary, Madison Communities.”
“We want to congratulate Ryan Hanks and the Go Store It team for getting shovels in the ground,” said BCDC CEO Litt Glover. “This is the first of what we hope will be many joint ventures with Madison Capital Group.”
Go Store It Self Storage Charlottesville will feature cutting-edge amenities, including climate-controlled units, dedicated interior loading areas and round-the-clock security. The five-story facility, spanning 92,585 gross square feet, is poised to meet the evolving storage needs of the community.
Characterized by a blend of rural tranquility and urban vitality, Albemarle County offers an inviting landscape for diverse business endeavors. The region’s robust economy, bolstered by a skilled workforce and an exceptional quality of life, underscores its status as an ideal locale for business expansion and growth.
United Bank is providing financing. BenCo Construction is the project’s general contractor. JMN Architecture is the architect, and Shimp Engineering is the civil engineer.
The partnership expects completion of the property in early 2025.
